The Schwinn 430 is a budget elliptical trainer retailing for about $600. it takes a very little space so is ideal if you only have a small amount of room. It is also fitted with wheels so is very easy to move around your room or for put away in a cupboard or other storage space. The LCD display is powered by AC current so you need to make sure you locate the machine close to a power outlet.
Although the Schwinn 430 is relatively low-priced it does give an efficient workout although it may not have some of the features of a more expensive machine. The motion, from the front drive, is smooth and it is a sturdy, well built machine that should last for some considerable time. There are eight programmed workouts and 16 levels of resistance. There are also three programs for feedback and pulse rate detectors in the handle bars so you can keep an eye on your heart rate as you work out. Resistance is changed by a pushbutton, which we prefer to a knob as this is easier to use. However, for taller people the 18 inch stride length of the Schwinn 430 may not be adequate.
Other features include an adequate LCD display. The disadvantage with this is that it is not backlit but is reasonably easy to see at most light levels. There is also a holder for water bottle.
The Schwinn 430 is a budget priced machine and offers good value for money with a sturdy construction and a smooth motion. It lacks a few of the features that you would find in the more expensive machine of course but for the price is a good buy.
